Welcome to Cracked Glass! A blog about women, leadership, technology, social media, business and everything in between.

If you read about artists who are working to create Stained Glass you will learn that in order to make their beautiful works of art they have to break alot of glass.  More often than not, they end up with bloody fingers.  Check out this great blog entitled “Broken Glass & Bleeding Fingers” if you want to learn more.

It’s rather an allegory for life isn’t it? When the light shines through our broken parts it often reveals the most beauty.  Typically, it’s because our mistakes tend to teach us our greatest lessons.

I also selected the name, because, as a women executive I am amongst the shrinking percentage of women who are choosing male-dominated industries and made it into an executive position.  In Canada only 14% get into senior management, and about 6.7% land a C-level position.  My hope is that as a “glass cracker” the discussion can begin here between all sexes on the importance of women in leadership, and also discuss some other fun topics along the way!
